The Language Leader serves as a key communication link within a multilingual manufacturing environment, facilitating clear and accurate communication between management and non-English-speaking employees. This role supports production, safety, and training initiatives by providing real-time translation, assisting with document translation, and helping ensure all employees understand work instructions, policies, and safety procedures. The Language Leader promotes inclusion, improves team collaboration, and supports operational efficiency through effective language support.

Job Summary

This role supports production, safety, and training initiatives by providing real-time translation, assisting with document translation, and helping ensure all employees understand work instructions, policies, and safety procedures. The Language Leader promotes inclusion, improves team collaboration, and supports operational efficiency through effective language support.
Duties
- Current role’s job duties in addition to Language Leader’s duties.
- Interpreting/translating prints, process sheets, training documents, and other documents related to production, safety, quality, important company announcements/communications and/or others as the company needs.
- Assisting with the training of new hires including any Shoals required training to be certified in operating machines, etc.
- Assisting in the re-training of team members as needed
- Interpreting for production management
- Assisting Safety Department with interpretation for team members with initial injury report, work-related injury appointments for evaluation, and any other health/injury/safety-related communications
- Assisting LEP (limited English Speaking) team members with interpreting on topics such as Insurance, open enrollment, 401(k), payroll, job posting, and other important company-provided information.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Flexible work hours to support off-shift activities as needed
- Must be fluent in English & target language
- Ability to read and write English & target language
- Verbal interpretation and written translation
- Passion for team members' welfare, customer service driven, bridging communication and cultural gaps
- Due to the nature of some of the position requirements, a confidentiality agreement may be required
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Interpretation experience preferred but not required.
- Must be able to stand, walk, push, bend and/or squat for 10 hours in a day.
