The Sr. Design Engineer will utilize engineering principles and design software, design, develop and test electrical systems and/or components to required specifications focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability as it pertains to photovoltaic and EV systems.

The Sr. Design Engineer will utilize engineering principles and design software, design, develop and test electrical systems and/or components to required specifications focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability as it pertains to photovoltaic and EV systems.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Utilize computer aided design software to develop 3D models and drawings.
- Perform electrical engineering calculations to determine wire sizing, resistance and current flow as it pertains to photovoltaic systems and EV charging components.
- Design PCB’s and select board level components.
- Perform electrical engineering calculations for AC power systems.
- Determine financial impact of new product design.
- Work with testing agencies to insure timely certification of products.
- Travel to jobsites to evaluate installations and provide installation and warranty guidance.
- Perform all duties as designated by the engineering manager.
- Bachelor’s degree is required; Mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience working as a Design or Mechanical engineer.
- Minimum of 1 years of working knowledge of AutoCAD design software.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of UL/NEC standards and requirements.
