Key Responsibilities:
- Review blueprints, specifications, and project requirements to identify all necessary materials, labor, and equipment.
- Gather and analyze estimates on materials, labor, equipment, and other requirements.
- Estimate project costs, including direct and indirect costs, contingency planning, and profit margins.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for clients and project managers.
- Develop project budgets and cost forecasts.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to manage cost data and generate reports.
- Review and revise estimates when needed to address issues, constraints, or additions.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis.
- Familiarity with software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and assess risks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant experience in construction estimating is highly valued.
