Key Responsibilities
CNC Programming & Setup
- Program, edit and optimize CNC programs for Mill and/or Lathe operations. Knowledge of G&M codes preferred
- Set up machine including material, tooling selection, offsets and fixture alignment
- Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings accurately to produce complex parts
- Select proper cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials
- Operate CNC Mill and/or Lathe to manufacture precision components
- Download existing programs into the controls and make necessary adjustments to the programs
- Update header and tooling information so the information is clear and accurate for others to use as well
- Monitor machine operations and adjust as necessary to maintain tolerances
- Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Maintain production efficiency while ensuring adherence to quality standards
- Inspect and document parts as required on inspection sheets, when required
- Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes
- Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust setups as needed, and ensure adherence to safety protocols throughout the manufacturing process
- Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized area
- Commitment to safety standards and quality assurance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Pay Range: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour depending on level of experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of CNC machining experience (Mill or Lathe specialization)
- Proficiency in G&M-code programming and editing at the machine
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with precision measuring tools and quality inspection processes
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience machining a variety of materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, plastics)
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
- Experience with CAD Cam Software, Mastercam preferred
- Must have a good work ethic, dependable, great communications skills, positive team player, self-motivated, person of high integrity, shows initiative
- Personal measuring equipment to use on the job, not required but preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Manual dexterity and attention to fine detail work
- Be able to work 50 hrs a week, Monday - Friday
