Seeking experienced paralegal for solo practice law firm in Fresh Meadows, Queens. We specialize in residential and commercial real estate transactions, representing buyers, sellers, investors, developers, hard money lender and commercial banks. We also handle probate and estate administration. In this role, you will be expected to:
- Draft, proof and edit various documents, including contracts, agreements, leases, letters, deeds, acris transfer documents, petitions for administration, etc.
- Communicate in writing and orally with opposing attorney offices, real estate brokers, and clients of the firm
- Assist in reviewing legal documents and organizing and maintaining legal files
- Review title reports and conduct other real estate due diligence
- Create and track closing checklists and prepare closing statements, including calculating adjustments
- Assist the team with closing matters and perform other legal tasks
- Handle all office correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails with proper etiquette, scheduling meetings and closings, maintaining calendars, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines
- Process outgoing and incoming mail, create label and envelopes
- Photocopy, scan and use other office equipment as needed
- Be willing to take on any other necessary administrative task to help the firm run smoothly and grow
Qualifications:
- At least 3 experience working as a real estate paralegal is required
- Self-starter, reliable and able to work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to plan and manage work under time constraints
- Efficient at multi-tasking and project management skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel, Adobe, Gmail email and calendar
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree is a plus
- Notary Public license or willing to obtain
