- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS and relay orders efficiently to kitchen staff.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Engage with guests to recommend menu items, upsell specials, and enhance their dining experience through knowledgeable suggestions.
- Manage multiple tables effectively by prioritizing tasks, ensuring timely service, and attending to guest needs throughout their visit.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling, cashiering, and processing payments with POS systems like OpenTable or similar platforms.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards by adhering to proper food handling procedures and sanitation protocols.
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning work areas, and resetting tables efficiently to optimize restaurant flow.
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring every guest leaves satisfied.
- Support team members during busy hours by providing assistance with food preparation or other tasks as needed.
- Uphold the restaurant’s standards for hospitality, cleanliness, and safety at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is required.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms; familiarity with OpenTable is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
- Demonstrated ability in upselling menu items to increase sales while enhancing guest satisfaction.
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and transaction processing.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Culinary experience or kitchen background can be beneficial but not required; a passion for food industry excellence is essential.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment.
