What You’ll Need to Be Successful
- Software Engineering Experience: 4 years of software development experience, operating with a high degree of autonomy and collaboration to independently design, deploy, and own complex production services from end to end in a cross-functional Agile environment.
- Distributed Systems Projects: Proven experience building and scaling multi-region distributed architectures, microservices, or SOA systems using languages such as Go, design patterns, and Kafka event driven messaging.
- Data Modeling & Optimization: A track record of designing distributed data models and actively identifying and improving poor-performing code or database queries with Postgres, Snowflake, and caching technologies like Redis.
- API Design: Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs that successfully apply functional and object-oriented programming paradigms to serve high-volume customer traffic.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Demonstrated experience mentoring junior or peer engineers, leading design sessions gathering input from multiple voices, providing, code reviews, and clearly communicating complex architectural concepts to cross-disciplinary teams.
- 4 years Backend REST services.
- 4 years relational or no-sql databases. Distributed database design experience preferred.
- Caching such as REDIS.
- 2 years messaging queuing such as Kafka.
- Must have CS principles design patterns such as Gang of Four
- 2 years driving non-functional requirements for performance/load testing and scaling infrastructure.
- Observability: logging metrics
- On-call experience 24/7 for high ownership on production issues. This team rotation every 3-4 weeks.
