Duties
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, providing exceptional front desk and patient service support
- Schedule appointments accurately and appropriately
- Collect insurance coverage information and accurate patient information.
- Collect and review patient documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy for medical records and billing purposes
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures, including updating personal information and collecting co-pays
- Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly
- Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and care plan coordination
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information during all interactions
- This position could become part of our Ophthalmic tech department with direct patient care duties.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment, preferably but willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to review documentation thoroughly and ensure accuracy in medical records and care plans
- Exceptional customer service skills with a professional phone manner and effective communication abilities
- Attention to detail with strong clerical skills including data entry accuracy
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality at all times
