Job Overview
We are hiring a Yard Jockey to support warehouse operations by moving and spotting trailers in a yard environment. This is a steady, local position with consistent hours, weekly overtime, and weekends at home.
Job Duties
- Move and spot trailers at dock doors for loading and unloading
- Conduct daily equipment inspections
- Perform daily yard and facility inspections
- Ensure trailer preparedness
- Stage equipment for easy access and accountability
- Support warehouse shipping and storage operations
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- Start time: 5:30 AM
- Typically finished around 4:00 PM
- Occasional weekend work available (usually covered by other drivers)
Home Time
- Home every Saturday and Sunday

- 2018 Ottawa yard truck
- Automatic transmission
Freight
- No touch freight
Compensation
- $26.00 per hour
- $39.00 per hour overtime after 40 hours
- Overtime available almost every week
Bonuses
New Hire Transition Bonus
- $500 paid in full on your second paycheck
Parking
- On-site parking at customer location
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 months of recent tractor-trailer experience
- Hazmat endorsement required
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
