Job Title: Front of the House, Cashier/IcerSummary: Provide excellent customer service to customers, process transactions, and help maintain the front end of the restaurant.
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
Duties and Responsibilities
•Process sales transactions quickly and accurately for customers
•Provide excellent customer service
•Assist in making sure fresh items are kept in stock and discard old items
•Ensure the restaurant is clean by sweeping, mopping, cleaning corner tops, emptying trash containers, wiping down tables, and other related activities
•Clean restaurant bathrooms when necessary
•Inform management of operational issues
•Adhere to all company and industry safety and sanitary standards
•Assist with back of the house tasks depending on business needs
•Other duties as reasonably assigned by the team lead and/or general manager of the restaurant
•Obtain a valid Food Handler Certification
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required in addition to the tasks above.
Education/Experience:
Experience in the restaurant or food preparation industry preferred, but not required.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, write, and apply written and verbal instructions in English. Ability to effectively communicate and present information and respond to questions from customers, other employees, and vendors in English.
Math Ability:
Basic math skills are required. Must be able to accurately complete cash transactions, and perform basic inventory/planning.
Reasoning Ability:
Basic reasoning required. Ability to hear or read client orders or concerns and process them. Ability to receive a variety of instructions in oral, written or diagram form.
Computer Skills:
Must be able to work the restaurant cash registers. (NCR, Synergy Suites)
Management Responsibilities:
This position will not have any managerial responsibilities.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands; reach with hands or arms, talk and or hear for eight or more hours. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color recognition, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment is fast paced and has a moderate to loud noise level.
