Responsibility Expectations
Daily Sales Responsibilities
- Maintain current accounts through consistent customer communication and interaction
- Manage inbound phone calls, take customer orders, and facilitate deliveries with Shipley Transport to ensure customer satisfaction
- Evaluate spot market price movement to market fixed price deals to customers
- Communicate customer intel, trends, and feedback to SFM's Operations Team
- Stay current on industry news, market trends, and the competitive landscape in SFM's footprint
Business Development
- Suggest new growth opportunities to SFM management
- Build and develop strong customer relationships
- Actively touch base with current leads to transition to accounts
- Utilize internal and external resources to continually feed new prospects into sales pipeline
- Offer fixed price deals to customers to enhance department margin/volume goals
- Keep Shipley's CRM database updated with accurate account information and timely logs of customer interactions.
GP Enhancement
- Manage quotes to ensure profitability
- Sell rack product on market down days
- Review sales reports and follow up on any discrepancies
- Focus on long term contracts / fixed price deals
Customer Experience
- Communicate with current customers and prospects daily to provide a positive and easy procurement process
- Work with other departments to ensure any discrepancies are promptly corrected
- Make purchasing from Shipley easy by being the sole company contact
