We are seeking a skilled and dedicated 2nd Class Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team. Responsibilities
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to accurately fabricate sheet metal components.
- Operate a variety of manufacturing equipment
- Set up and calibrate machining tools and fabrication equipment to ensure precise measurements and quality standards are met.
- Perform machining tasks
- Conduct quality inspections using measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and adherence to blueprint specifications.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following safety standards in production, handling heavy sheet metal, and ensuring proper use of safety equipment.
- Assemble fabricated parts according to technical drawings while adhering to manufacturing procedures and tooling guidelines.
Experience
- Proven experience as a sheet metal mechanic or similar role
- Strong knowledge of mechanical blueprint interpretation, measurement techniques, and quality control processes.
- Familiarity with safety standards related to machining operations, sheet metal fabrication, and tool handling.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and translate them into precise fabricated components.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to machining setups, and quality inspection procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by experience in tooling setup, fabrication processes, and the use of hand tools for assembly tasks.
