Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Acts as a safety leader and follows all Shintech Safety Policies and Procedures. Conducts daily toolbox safety meetings, pulls safe work permits for each job, and conducts JSA for each job.
- Respond to breakdowns immediately and /or provide communication to maintenance supervision for repairs.
- Monitor/troubleshoot the condition of rotating equipment utilizing parameters including vibration, temperature, pressures, flows, and currents.
- Maintain equipment to design specifications including, but not limited to pumps, compressors, steam turbines, centrifuges, fans, gear reducers/increasers & other mechanical equipment (valves, operators, testing tools). Replace pump seals, mechanical seals, and pump packing.
- Provide proper alignment for all rotating equipment. Must be able to perform all types of alignment methods including rim and face, reverse alignment, and Laser System.
- Ensures work is executed correctly and makes final quality checks on completed work.
- Performs recordkeeping required to properly document inspections and repairs performed.
- Reviews and walks down job plans of scheduled millwright work to ensure appropriate manpower resources, material, and support equipment (scaffolding, cranes, vacuum trucks, etc.) are available.
- Justifies the need for additional manpower and resources, if necessary, to maintenance supervision.
- Complies with the Mechanical Integrity (MI) program by preventing scheduled PMs from going overdue and ensuring all paperwork gets completed and turned in on time.
- Reviews monthly KPI reports and identifies areas of improvement.
- Assist with the development of maintenance repair standards and repair plans.
- Supports scheduled turnarounds and unplanned unit shutdowns as necessary for the site.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High School diploma/GED equivalent.
- NCCR certification or other certification related to field of study.

- Must be able to access all plant areas.
- Required to be medically fit for duty.
- Regularly required to push, pull, bend and perform long periods of standing and walking on cement foundations.
- Climb stairs.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to coordinate the movement of eyes, hands, feet, and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
- Comply with respirator fit tests (where applicable).
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as respirators, earplugs, goggles, hard hat, and steel-toed boots.
- Clean shaven.
