Morning Floater for Preschool

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Morning Floater to join our preschool team for the 2026 - 2027 school year (Begins August 24th)! This vital role ensures the smooth operation of our classroom environments during morning hours by providing flexible support across various classrooms and activities. As a Morning Floater, you will be a key team member dedicated to fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging atmosphere for young children. Your enthusiasm and adaptability will help create a positive start to each child's day, supporting teachers, supervising children, and maintaining a vibrant early childhood learning environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's early development while gaining valuable experience in preschool education.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers with daily routines, including setting up activities and tidying spaces to ensure an organized environment.
• Supervise children during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring their safety and engagement at all times.
• Support children with their individual needs, including those with disabilities or special educational requirements, following appropriate care plans.
• Implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and early learning concepts.
• Maintain clear communication with parents regarding children's daily experiences and any concerns that arise during morning hours.
• Follow mandated reporting laws by observing and reporting any signs of neglect or abuse in accordance with legal requirements.
• Assist with classroom management strategies to foster positive behavior and support a respectful learning environment.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures such as pediatric first aid and CPR when necessary.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with young children in a preschool, daycare, nannying, babysitting, or childcare setting is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
• Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required or must be obtained upon hire.
• Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus.
• Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and teamwork within the preschool staff.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior through positive guidance techniques and behavior management strategies.
• Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare.
• Classroom experience in early childhood education or daycare center is highly valued.

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
