Duties
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing daily lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Support children during structured activities, free play, and mealtimes to promote social skills and independence.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and development.
- Observe and document individual children's progress, behaviors, and needs to inform teaching strategies.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) under supervision.
- Provide basic first aid when necessary, following established safety protocols to ensure children's well-being.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that foster cognitive, emotional, and physical development.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's daily experiences and developmental milestones.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping implement behavior management strategies.
- Assist with diapering, infant care, toddler care, or preschool routines as required to meet the needs of different age groups.
- Collaborate with team members to create an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Skills
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom settings is highly valued.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Ability to manage classroom activities effectively while maintaining a positive atmosphere.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a strong plus.
- Certification or training in first aid and CPR to ensure safety during emergencies.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques that promote positive social interactions.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members clearly and empathetically.
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for nurturing young minds.
