Position Summary – In and outbound Clerk
The In and outbound Clerk is responsible for managing in and outbound logistics processes, material receiving, documentation accuracy, and trailer inspections. This role works closely with warehouse operations and material teams to coordinate trailer scheduling, support unloading activities, and maintain system integrity throughout the inbound workflow. Occasional forklift operation and basic data entry using Excel are required.
Duties:
Inbound Operations
- Coordinate and manage trailer scheduling, dock location sequencing, and waiting logistics
- Conduct preliminary inspection of Bill of Lading (BL) and verify loading status prior to unloading
- Monitor unloading processes and report issues such as delays, damage, or discrepancies
- Validate physical quantity of incoming materials against system records
- Execute system-based putaway and attach pallet labels with receipt date, item number, and quantity
- Check return material issue lists and ensure tagging of defective products
Documentation & Reporting
- Complete receipt documentation and system updates for incoming materials
- Generate reports on logistics issues including delivery damage and safety incidents
- Support harmonization of computer and physical inventory records
- Assist in audit readiness through accurate recordkeeping and system updates
Equipment & Safety
- Safely operate forklifts periodically for unloading and putaway tasks
- Follow SOPs for labeling, storage, trailer inspection, and general warehouse safety
Coordination & Communication
- Collaborate with warehouse and material handling teams to ensure process alignment
- Communicate discrepancies, delivery issues, and resolution plans via email or designated channels
- Participate in team support rotations, cross-training, and basic data entry in Excel
Requirements:
Experience & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in warehouse logistics is a plus
- 1–2 years of experience in warehousing or material handling preferred
- Forklift certification or willingness to complete certification upon hire
- Basic proficiency in Excel for data entry and inventory tracking
Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and consistency in handling physical and system-based inventory
- Ability to follow documented procedures accurately
- Comfortable performing physical tasks including unloading, labeling, and staging
- Professional communication and problem-solving skills related to logistics discrepancies
Physical & Schedule Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs on warehouse flooring
- Available to work weekday shift, occasional overtime, and weekends as needed
