Performs assembly of simple and complex devices using small parts, fasteners, adhesives, and hand or power tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, and drills. Good mechanical reasoning and some assembly background are preferred.
Essential Functions:
1. Performs mechanical assembly with strict adherence to work instructions using hand and power tools.
2. Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, printed circuit boards, power supplies, and sub-assemblies onto the chassis.
3. Tasks may involve mechanical complexity and the handling of many small parts.
4. Completes required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
5. Regular and consistent attendance; able to work scheduled shifts.
Secondary Functions:
1. Performs duties in support of the company’s certifications (example: ISO and FDA/QSR).
2. Cares for and maintains department tools and equipment.
3. Assists in ensuring that safety requirements and regulations are maintained within the Production Assembly area.
4. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Scope/Demands & Complexity:
1. Repetitive work situations with occasional variations from the norm.
2. The job involves a simple to moderate degree of complexity.
3. Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
4. Operate under a moderate level of supervision.
Physical Requirements:
Constant: Walking, standing, bending, reaching above shoulder height to get parts, repetitive use of hands, wrists, and fingers for grasping, and use of hand tools, hearing/listening, lifting and carrying up to 35 lbs. Occasional: Sitting, talking, use of hands, wrists, and fingers for writing and keyboarding, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs. Visual acuity to be able to read print and computer screens.
Education & Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
Effective communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak in English.
Able to work independently and make effective, routine decisions.
Strong attention to detail.
1 year prior mechanical, electronic assembly, or related experience preferred.
