Job Overview:
We are seeking an Optician with contact lens experience to join our team. As an Optician, you will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and have knowledge of contact lenses, as well as providing exceptional customer service. Duties:
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate eyeglasses frames based on their prescription, facial features, and personal style preferences
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fit of eyeglasses
- Educate customers on lens options, coatings, and other enhancements to meet their specific needs
- Process orders for eyeglasses and contact lenses, including verifying insurance coverage and obtaining necessary authorizations
- Adjust and minor repair eyeglasses as needed to ensure optimal comfort and fit for customers
- Maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions, orders, and interactions in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to provide comprehensive eye care services
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in eyewear fashion, lens technology, and industry advancements
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of optical products, including frames, lenses, coatings, and contact lenses
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers
- Proficient in medical billing processes related to vision insurance claims
- Familiarity with retail management principles and practices
- Experience working with electronic health record systems such as Epic is a plus
- Ability to perform basic eye exams including measuring visual acuity and assessing vital signs
- Knowledge of specialized areas such as pediatrics or senior care is desirable
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
