Duties
- Assist with the safe demolition of buildings, structures, and fixtures using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment under supervision.
- Prepare sites by removing debris, hazardous materials, and ensuring the area is ready for subsequent construction activities.
- Follows instructions to accurately dismantle structures while maintaining safety protocols.
- Operate basic hand tools such as sledgehammers, chisels, and pry bars to facilitate demolition tasks.
- Support the removal of materials like concrete, drywall, roofing materials, and masonry components with precision.
- Conduct site inspections to identify hazards or issues that could impact safety or project progress.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
Qualifications
- Prior construction site experience or familiarity with demolition activities preferred.
- Ability to operate basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and protocols.
- Basic understanding of blueprints or schematics is a plus.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding labor including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Nice-to-have skills include experience with heavy equipment operation, blueprint reading, concrete forming, carpentry (including trim carpentry), roofing, masonry, welding, flooring installation, tile laying, plastering, fabrication, restoration work, glass installation, cabinet installation, door hanging, construction painting, concrete finishing, hardscape work, caulking techniques, remodeling projects, or electrical/plumbing experience.
