Job Description:
Our client is located in Downtown Houston and looking to add a CAD Design Engineer to their team on a contract basis.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and revise standards, specifications and design criteria to be used by CNP utilizing MicroStation CAD software.
• Ensure design adherence to applicable internal standards and procedures, and ensure compliance with external code requirements (NESC, ANSI, ASTM, IEEE, ERCOT, NERC, etc.).
• Design and develop systems, components, or processes based on project specifications and requirements.
• Conduct testing, analysis, and evaluations to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project planning and execution.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and drawings to communicate engineering concepts.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, proposing effective solutions.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools relevant to the discipline.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and data.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of industry standards and engineering best practices.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor s degree in engineering or engineering technology required.
• CAD software experience
• Extensive design experience
• Experience with MicroStation
• Strong drafting skills and drafting software experience
