What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmworkers, Farm & Ranch Animals position at Shields Honey Co Inc?
Maintaining Hives: assembling, repairing and inspecting; Collecting Honey: extracting honey from combs and packaging it for sale; Ensuring food supply: making sure bees have enough food to survive and produce honey; Treating for disease and pests: identify and treat parasites and viruses that affect bees; Pollination preparation: Get colonies ready to pollinate crops; Breed Queen bees: raising and breeding queen bees to maintain genetic diversity; Prepare for winter: ensure colonies of bees have enough food to survive the winter; Providing pollination services: rent hives out to farms and orchards, includes moving bee hives, maintaining them and removing when pollination process is completed. Beekeeper suits and other equipment is provided and training on proper use is part of on the job training. Safety training is also provided. Must not have honey, pollen, or bee related allergies. Approximate staggered entry: 1 worker to begin Feb 2 and 2 workers to begin March 10.
