Armed Security Officer
We are looking for a competent Armed Security Officer to undertake the surveillance of our premises and protection of our staff and visitors. You will be responsible for detecting suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, theft, and other criminal activity.
A Security Officer must be well-trained in surveillance and handling perpetrators. The ideal candidate will inspire respect and authority while possessing a high level of observation and professionalism. The goal is to help the company maintain excellent working conditions by keeping our facilities safe and problem-free.
Responsibilities
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
- Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or individuals on the property
- Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area
- Secure all exits, doors, and windows after end of operations
- Monitor surveillance cameras to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
- Investigate individuals for suspicious activity or prohibited items
- Respond to alarms and assess emergency situations
- Provide assistance to persons in need
- Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol until authorities arrive
- Submit detailed reports of daily surveillance activity and important incidents
Qualifications (Required for Armed Security – North Carolina)
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must possess a valid North Carolina Armed Security Guard Registration (PPSB)
- Completion of 16-hour Unarmed Security Guard Training (NC PPSB approved)
- Completion of 20-hour Armed Security Guard Firearms Training (NC PPSB approved)
- Must pass state and federal background check and fingerprinting
- Must maintain annual firearms qualification and registration renewal
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- No disqualifying felony convictions
Skills & Requirements
- Proven experience as a Security Officer or Guard preferred
- Armed and proficient in firearm safety and handling
- Familiarity with report writing
- Excellent surveillance and observation skills
- Tech-savy with experience using surveillance systems
- Knowledge of North Carolina legal guidelines for area security and public safety
- Strong integrity and professionalism
- High School Diploma or GED required
Pay: From $38,000.00 per year
