This is not a Remote Position. You will need to report to our office in Garrett, IN for weekly meetings, strategy sessions, editing work and other essential job duties. Shield Exteriors is the premier roofing contractor in NE Indiana, Southern Michigan and NW Ohio. We are looking for an experienced content and social media specialist to join us as our next Content and Social Media Manager. We seek an individual experienced in creating content for a home improvement company.As our Content & Social Media Manager, you will be the voice, eye, and creative engine behind our online presence. You won’t just be scheduling posts—you’ll be building and nurturing a community. You will conceptualize, shoot, edit, and write high-performing content across all of our online properties such as: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and our blog.Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Produce highly engaging, high-quality visual and written content (short-form video, carousels, stories, and blogs) tailored to the home improvement industry, specifically roofing.
- Strategy & Growth: Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that increases brand awareness, engagement, and website traffic.
- Community Management: Engage with our audience daily—answering questions, responding to comments, and fostering a passionate community.
- Trends & Analytics: Stay ahead of social media features, algorithms, and design trends. Track monthly KPIs (reach, engagement, conversion) and pivot strategies accordingly.
- Collaboration: Work alongside our product, design, or contractor teams to translate complex home improvement concepts into digestible, entertaining consumer content.
- Create Content to be used for our online and traditional advertising
- Create Content for hiring campaigns across all departments
What We’re Looking For
- The Home Improvement Spark: You know the terminology and understand the pain points of the highly competitive home improvement industry
- Social Media Native: 1 years of experience managing brand social channels with a proven track record of growing audiences (specifically on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and any other relevant platform).
- Multimedia Skills: Strong video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere, or InShot) and a sharp eye for aesthetics using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Copywriting Chops: Ability to write catchy captions, informative video scripts, and SEO-friendly blog posts.
- On-Camera Comfort: (Optional but a huge plus) Willingness to occasionally step in front of the camera for tutorials, tours, or hosting duties as well as directing others for video shoots. (Other employees, installers, and homeowners)
- Ability to Travel: Ideal candidate would need to have reliable transportation and a valid license to not only travel to the office in Garrett, IN but also to job sites within our service radius.
