Job Summary
Sheyenne Manufacturing is seeking a Design Engineer II to support the design, development, and improvement of products and manufacturing processes. This role independently manages engineering projects, applies sound engineering judgment with minimal supervision, and provides technical support to junior engineers. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, practical solutions that support business growth and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Design, test, and implement new products and process improvements.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, models, and documentation.
- Lead and support engineering projects from concept through implementation.
- Provide guidance and technical support to Engineer I team members.
- Participate in technical reviews, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, purchasing, and leadership teams.
- Assist with onboarding and development of new engineering team members.
- Maintain accountability for project quality, timelines, and compliance requirements.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Experience working with engineering technology and design software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Inventor.
- Knowledge of fabrication, machining, welding, and manufacturing processes.
- Agricultural, construction equipment, or heavy equipment experience.
- Hands-on farm, mechanical, or fabrication experience.
