POSITION SUMMARY
The Architect will work closely with Shetler’s Construction ownership and project managers to support the design and execution of various projects from concept through construction.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development of construction designs, drawings, and models
- Prepare and modify construction documents using software such as SmartBuild, or similar house drafting program
- Support project team in planning, design, and documentation phases
- Assist in material takeoffs and quantity calculations from drawings and specifications
- Support in helping prepare cost estimates and bid packages/proposals
- Review project drawings and specifications to identify scope and potential cost impacts
- Conduct site visits and assist with field observations and measurements
- Research building codes, zoning regulations, and materials
- Assist with submittals, RFIs, and project documentation
- Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors
- Collaborate with owner, project manager, contractors and other stakeholders
- Participate in client meetings and presentations as needed
- Maintain organized project files, records of estimates, bids and other construction documentation
- Additional duties as assigned
COMPETENCIES
- Ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks

- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Valid state driver's license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in construction management or estimating software
- Basic knowledge of architectural design principles and construction methods
- Proficiency in design software
- Knowledge of local building codes
