Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough safety inspections on a wide range of vehicles to verify compliance with state standards.
- Perform emissions testing to ensure vehicles meet environmental regulations.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair equipment to diagnose issues and perform minor repairs when necessary.
- Document inspection results accurately and prepare detailed reports for each vehicle inspected.
- Assist vehicle owners by explaining inspection findings and guiding them through necessary repairs or maintenance steps.
- Maintain inspection stations and ensure all tools and equipment are in proper working order.
- Follow all safety protocols and stay updated on current state regulations related to vehicle safety and emissions.
Qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, auto body repair, and automotive service procedures.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and automotive repair equipment.
- Prior mechanic or auto restoration experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills for explaining technical information clearly.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate inspection equipment confidently.
