Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, team player, dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Assistant (RDA is required) to join our family oriented dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control protocols are followed, and support the delivery of high-quality dental care across various specialties including general dentistry including pediatric dentistry. Experience with Dental Software required (we use Softdent). This role involves working closely with dentists and patients to facilitate smooth clinical operations while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental best practices.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, clear aligners, x-rays, polishing, crowns, bridges & implants.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained
- Take digital dental X-rays and scan patients for restorative and orthodontic needs
- Record vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems. We use Softdent
- Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments and updating medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards
- Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain infection control standards by sterilizing instruments and disinfecting treatment areas
- Assist with administrative tasks such as verifying insurance information and processing dental records or medical coding as needed (some front office skills will be required but can be taught if you are not familiar with front office protocols )
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless patient experience through four-handed dentistry techniques and effective communication
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems for managing medical records and documentation
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques
- Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging including 3D scanners
- Familiarity with dental specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various treatments using proper dental assisting techniques
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies such as digital X-ray systems or advanced imaging tools
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly desirable (2-3 year minimum)
