Lead Performance Reliability Engineer Cleveland, OH, United States Job Description The Lead Performance Engineer role is responsible for overseeing the Performance Engineering team and ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of software applications and systems. The role will provide guidance and support to the team, ensure that best practices and methodologies are followed, and oversee the creation and execution of performance testing strategies and plans. The role requires a deep understanding of performance testing methodologies, tools, and programming languages to manage large-scale projects and mentor team members. The incumbent must have a strong attention to detail, the ability to adapt to changing requirements, and continuously improve existing processes to exceed performance expectations and meet business objectives. This position is not hybrid/remote and will be located at our Cleveland Headquarters office. Responsibilities Review performance testing strategies and plans, provide recommendations for their execution, and suggest performance improvements for software applications and systems Provide guidance to team members on performance optimization, review and approve complex recommendations for optimization, and communicate results to stakeholders for strategic decision-making Lead and share perspective when collaborating with development and operations teams to ensure optimal application performance and scalability Oversee the monitoring and analysis of application performance during development, testing, and in production environments, and provide guidance on complex areas of improvement Drive the development and implementation of performance testing best practices, processes, and tools, and ensure their alignment with company-wide goals and standards Direct and oversee the documentation of performance test results, learning, and findings to provide guidance as needed Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives, while fostering collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve performance gaps Lead the development and implementation of performance monitoring and diagnostic tools by leveraging expertise in the domain and providing strategic direction for the team This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H1-B visa. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future Education Required Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field. In lieu of a degree, at least 9 years of experience in performance engineering or software testing Preferred Quality Assurance certification Knowledge and Experience Required 6-8 years of experience in performance engineering and software testing in Oracle Cloud and other Cloud/On Prem applications Extensive knowledge of performance testing standards, methodologies, and tools Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Exceptional leadership and management skills to mentor and guide team members Preferred Experience with: Monitoring processes to track and report system health and performance metrics for all live sites Incident management of Performance issues Planning for future needs of System resources to ensure scalability and performance Analysis of metrics to identify bottlenecks and optimize system performance Collaboration with architecture/development teams to improve service reliability and implement opportunities for automation Technical Skills Programming Languages Cloud Technologies & Platforms Data Analysis Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) DevOps Methodology Web Services & APIs Systems Integration Operating Systems Monitoring and Logging Performance Testing Tools & Techniques Application Performance Monitoring (APM) Tools Load & Stress Testing Methodologies About Us At Sherwin-Williams, our purpose is to inspire and improve the world by coloring and protecting what matters.
