Job Description:
Sherpa 6 has an exciting opportunity for Master Trainers in support of USSOCOM Program Executive Office Tactical Information Systems (PEO-TIS). The Master Trainer is responsible for training Sherpa 6 Integrators and SOCOM personnel on all fielded SOF Tactical Communications (STC) platforms to ensure the Integrators and user competencies align with program objectives. Tasked with the development and implementation of comprehensive training programs, the Master Trainer creates essential materials such as manuals, presentations, and Plans of Instruction (POIs). In addition to conducting training sessions for Integrator personnel, the Master Trainer ensures that these individuals acquire the necessary skills to effectively train end users on both SOF, and Joint Staff Programs of record, as well as unit-sponsored commercial technologies upon request.
Responsibilities:
- Train Sherpa 6 Integrator personnel on required STC platforms
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs.
- Create essential materials such as manuals, presentations, and Plans of Instruction (POIs).
- Ensures that these individuals acquire the necessary skills to effectively train end users on both SOF, and Joint Staff Programs of record, as well as unit-sponsored commercial technologies upon request.
- Stays up to date on current and emerging technologies by actively scheduling and attending vendor-sponsored training events or studying vendor documentation to attain a trainer-level proficiency.
- Collaborate closely with regional site leads, the Master Trainer identifies unit-specific training needs and tailors solutions accordingly.
- Evaluate training program effectiveness and make recommendations for continuous improvements.
- Record training activities to track Integrator competencies at an individual level. Master trainer must maintain and ensure training is up to date.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 5 years of SOCOM experience.
- Military Instructor Training Course or similar Instructor Qualification or demonstrated Instructor experience
- Strong background in DoD tactical/strategic communications and network architectures.
- Subject matter expertise in the configuration, training and support of the AN/PRC-163 & 167 radios and the L3Harris Communications Planning Application (CPA).
- Proven expertise or in-depth knowledge of AN/PRC-161 Handheld Link 16 BATS-D (Battlefield Awareness and Targeting System – Dismounted) radio and proficiency with the Tactical Radio Application eXtension (TRAX) software.
- Proven expertise or in-depth knowledge of AN/PRC-137, TRQ-43, and AN/PRC-160 radio systems, as well as strong understanding of High Frequency (HF) communication theory and antenna theory.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor training
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Active DoD Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with experience and/or 10-15 years of Special Operations experience.
- Knowledge of the NettWarrior ecosystem and ATAK/TAK tools.?
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, and Office Suite administration.
- Experience in Linux administration, PKI, Docker, and networking protocols.
- Familiarity with Android/iOS systems and wireless transport technologies.
