Sherman Sherman Johnnie & Hoyt, LLP (SSJH) is seeking a bright, enthusiastic, self-motivated 1L or 2L law clerk for the summer of 2026.

With offices in Salem, Dallas, and Silverton, our team of 13 attorneys work in several main practice areas: Business, Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Estate Planning & Administration, Real Estate & Land Use, Nonprofit, Local Government/Municipal, Construction, Employment, Financial Institutions & Lending, and Agriculture Law.
SSJH believes the core purpose of a clerkship program is to provide the training and mentorship essential for law students to become the next generation of successful attorneys. We strive to provide as many learning opportunities as possible for our law clerks, including observing or participating in trials, hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings available during the term of the clerkship. Each law clerk will be assigned an attorney mentor to provide individualized guidance and support.
Our law clerks have the opportunity to work with multiple attorneys in a wide range of practice areas. However, if a law clerk expresses an interest in particular practice areas, we will take that into account in assigning projects.
Law clerk positions are full-time during the summer, with opportunities to continue part-time during the school year. All interested candidates must apply by January 19. All applications will be reviewed after the submission deadline. Following the review period, selected applicants will be invited to interview between January 26 and February 6. 6. Relevant life experience.
