What are the responsibilities and job description for the Authorizations Specialist position at SHERMAN KAHAN, M.D., P.A.?
Cardiology Office
-Verify insurance coverage, and notify patients of outstanding deductibles prior to the appointment.
-Submit authorization requests for testing completed in-house.
-Verify if a patient's insurance requires an authorization.
-Research claim denials and promptly complete the appropriate action regarding authorization issues.
-Discuss with providers to obtain necessary documentation for billing purposes
-Provide support to patients regarding billing inquiries
-Evaluating patient’s financial status and establishing budget payment plans
-Review patient payments before statement submission
-Performing other work-related duties as assigned
-Maintaining the strictest confidentiality; adhering to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations
