Position Summary
This position is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, preparing and/or reviewing various general ledger entries, account and bank reconciliations, producing reports, and backing up other accounting functions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs general accounting and other related duties.
- Prepares various general ledger entries.
- Assists with the monthly and annual closings, meeting timelines and deadlines timely.
- Assists with preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements.
- Assists with maintaining the general ledger and other reporting systems.
- Cross trains with other accounting functions -AP, AR, etc.
- Assists with preparation of required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
- Reconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
- Assists with cash reporting and account analysis.
- Assists with General Ledger Account reconciliations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
- Advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with AR / AP functions preferred.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience required.
- 3 years of accounting experience required.
- Knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
Pay Range: $70,000-$80,000 /yr
Schedule: Monday - Friday, generally 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Additional hours may occasionally be required during month-end close, year-end close, audits, or other business needs.
