Sheridan Community Hospital is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in our Emergency Department. Emergency Room Physician Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute and emergent conditions
- Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations
- Stabilize and resuscitate patients, managing medical and surgical emergencies
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory and imaging studies
- Perform emergency procedures including:
- Laceration repair and wound care
- Incision and drainage
- Fracture stabilization, casting, and splinting
- Procedural sedation
- Lumbar puncture, thoracentesis, and arthrocentesis
- Airway management and vascular access
- Administer medications and develop treatment plans
- Coordinate patient disposition including admission, transfer, or discharge
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment, and follow-up care
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the medical record
- Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs

Qualifications:- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited program
- Completion of an accredited residency program (minimum 3 years)
- Active Michigan medical license required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
