Job Title: Room Attendant Department: Housekeeping
Reports To: Executive Housekeeper/Executive Housekeeper Assistant/Director of Rooms
Clean guest rooms and/or suites in a timely and thorough manner to ensure total guest satisfaction. The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time and for any reasons.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year of previous experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, assignments and maintenance instructions. Ability to communicate in English at all levels.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems and situations that may present while cleaning rooms. Ability to easily and frequently change from one activity to another.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a colleague to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing duties of this job, the colleague is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; bend, kneel, stoop and squat . The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, depth perception. Color vision and peripheral vision.

- Clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms and removing trash. May include cleaning of room refrigerator, coffee maker, cups, glasses, trays, lamps and decorative items.
- Notify supervisor when service is complete so rooms may be sold or occupied. Report any room unable to be serviced to supervisor according to established procedures.
- Report to supervisor needed repairs or unsafe conditions.
- Respond to guest complaints, special requests and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and control supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping.
- Report, turn in, and/or log all lost and found items according to established procedures.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
- May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects.
- May have turndown duties. May assist with other duties as assigned
