What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rooms Control Manager position at Sheraton Palo Alto, Pacific Hotel Management LLC?
The Rooms Control Manager will be responsible for managing the overall Rooms Inventory to maximize revenue and minimize disruption based on business needs. The Rooms Control Manager will be directly responsible for the supervision of the PBX operations, supporting personnel, and equipment. This role must ensure the delivery of prompt and courteous service to internal and external guests, maintain a team environment and assist to maintain established standards and policies and procedures and to control expenses.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Monitor and Coordinate Short-Term Inventory Disruptions – responsible for coordinating and communicating all aspects of the disruption and projected resolution to all affected departments.
- Utilize online platforms to address guest feedback, questions and or concerns.
- Mentor, develop and train associates to ensure maximum guest and associate satisfaction.
- Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward.
- Guest Planning – Elite, Special Preferences, property-designated VIP room assignments prior to arrival date with interdepartmental coordination. Ensure that future group’s room type bookings are coordinated to reflect group contracts, transient considerations, revenue considerations, and arrival/departure patterns for the corresponding days.
- Coordination of which rooms are being deep cleaned, and scheduled for Preventative Maintenance.
- Ensuring room inventory in the local PMS matches Marriot’s room inventory for the property. Take personal responsibility for correcting customer service problems. Housekeeping status (availability for check-in) of each room is accounted for (including Out of Order)
- Alert Director of Front Office Operations and Front Office Manager of potentially serious issues. MOD Report and or Incident Reports must be completed within a 24 hour time frame of incidents occurrence.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of hotel experience in a supervisory role, ideally in Front Office/Guest Services.
- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
