What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Assistant position at Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey?
Our successful hotel is looking for a hospitality professional with a sales mindset to assist in helping grow our hotel. You will serve as a liaison between the sales department and the front desk to provide our guests with an unforgettable experience at our hotel, in addition to attracting new guests to increase our revenue. You'll be in charge of responding to guest inquiries, contacting potential new guests based on networking and referral leads, and assisting the sales team with administrative tasks. Responsibilities:
- Present prospective clients with sales presentations and other materials that promote event space, dining options, and facility features
- Plan and organize work schedules, file important documents, and communicate with stakeholders and hotel departments about sales-related information
- Recognize opportunities to maximize revenue opportunities by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding guest satisfaction for the hotel group
- Assist clients by acting as a point of contact and communicating with them by phone and email in response to their queries and requests
- Create a list of business and referral leads through research and networking and make preliminary pitches
Qualifications:
- Stays organized and manage time well
- Understands how to communicate, negotiate, and network effectively
- Proven track record of sales success
- Prior experience working in the hospitality sector is required
- Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a similar field is a plus
