What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager (Facilities Engineering) position at Sheppard Pratt?
General Summary:
- Under the direction of the Senior Director of Facility Engineering and Associate Director of Facility Engineering, manages the day-to-day operations of grounds and building maintenance activities for Sheppard Pratt community services facilities and schools for the assigned regions.
- Participates in the development, recommendation, and administration of policies, procedures, and processes in support of departmental operations.
- Participates in the design, review, and planning of new construction and remodeling projects; and does related work as required.
- This role will oversee our Northern and Central regions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Requires Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Architecture, and Administration or a related building construction field.
- Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- 5 years’ progressively responsible, grounds, and/or maintenance experience.
- Work requires strong interpersonal skills to manage work and projects through others in order to achieve department objectives and goals and to represent Sheppard Pratt to a variety of contractors and agencies.
- Work requires knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations, codes and/or statutes, as well as knowledge of applicable rules & regulations of regulatory bodies such as HUD.
- Work requires a high level of project management skills, managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects across many locations and facilities.
- Must possess a current, valid Maryland Driver's License that has 2 or fewer points on it at time of hire. Must meet Sheppard Pratt requirements to operate a vehicle.
