What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist position at Sheppard Pratt Careers?
What to expect.
The receptionist serves as the first point of contact for all visitors at the Sheppard Pratt Conference Center location. Performs administrative activities such as receiving, sorting and sending mail and/or packages and providing general support. Responds to internal and external inquiries. May provide back up for clerical projects or route phone calls.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Greet and screen visitors. Providing directions and access, as necessary.
- Answers, screens, and routes incoming calls and takes messages as needed.
- Maintains reception area in neat and orderly condition.
- Assists visitors and staff with questions and information.
- Pick up mail from the mailroom daily. Sorts mail and distributes to the executive administrative staff for processing.
- Accepts deliveries. Distributes to the correct recipients.
- Maintains the executive office directory.
- Orders office and kitchen supplies for executive office. Organizes and maintains the supply closet and kitchenette.
- Provides general support to the executive office staff.
- May assist with monitoring conference room usage.
- May perform variety of clerical duties and other duties as assigned.

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $22.95/hr. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
What we need from you.
- Work requires ability to follow instructions and perform general clerical procedures - acquired through high school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience in healthcare administration, customer service, or receptionist roles is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Computer proficiency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
