Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, an Am Law 50 firm, has an immediate opening for a Recruiting Coordinator to join the Talent Management team.
We prefer candidates who can work from our Los Angeles or Washington DC locations, but will consider candidates who can work from one of our other U.S. offices. Our other U.S. offices are as follows: Century City, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, New York, Orange County, Downtown San Diego, Del Mar, Silicon Valley, and San Francisco. There is only one opening.

The Recruiting Coordinator will support firmwide offices on all aspects of recruiting for business services under the direction of the Recruiting Manager. The position also provides administrative and clerical support for the HR department. The Recruiting Coordinator will also have individual responsibilities, and assist with HR projects and initiatives as required.
Recruiting
The ideal candidate will exhibit the following qualifications:
Computer/Software Knowledge
Required: Highly proficient with Zoom, Microsoft Office 365 Suite of Programs, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
Preferred: Experience with viRecruit or similar ATS
Work Environment
Up to 10%. Travel to the Los Angeles office or other Firm offices to collaborate with the team.
California: The pay range for this position is $36.00 to $44.00 per hour.
New York: The pay range for this position is: $38.00 - $47.00 per hour. Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law.
Washington DC: The pay range for this position is: $36.00 - $44.00 per hour. Medical, vision, and dental coverage is available, including coverage for dependents and domestic partners. Recruiting
- Proactively drive all aspects of the business services recruiting cycle including, draft job descriptions; source candidates; coordinate interviews; collect feedback and facilitate decision-making conversations with hiring partners in accordance with established strategic goals; establish and build relationships with external search firms; coordinate onboarding and support integration efforts
- Scheduling interviews
- Data maintenance and updates in applicant tracking system (viRecruit)
- Responsible for job postings online on viRecruit/the Firm website and on various job boards
- Request for background checks and monitor the progress
- Revising job descriptions into the standardized format
- Maintaining the job descriptions database in NetDocs
- Reviewing resumes and screening candidates
- Extending verbal offers
- Drafting offer letters
- Processing of vendor invoices for payment (i.e., agencies/search firms)
- Prepare onboarding processes for new hires (including IT equipment needs)
- Coordinate orientation and training schedules
- Initiate and monitor new hire workflow
- Processing internal referral bonuses
- Maintain the Professional Recruiting mailbox
- Assist Recruiting Manager as needed
- Sharing necessary documents with HR Operations
- Scanning of HR documentation and general file maintenance on NetDocs
- Maintenance of HR data on Pipeline and SharePoint
- Taking new hire photos and sharing with the Graphic Designers
- Proactively drive all aspects of the business services recruiting process (full cycle recruiting)
- Maintain applicant records to ensure data integrity
- Work collaboratively firmwide with Firm administrative departments, hiring managers, and offices, etc.
- Review and synthesize application materials of candidates
- Communicate with hiring committees/managers, candidates, and external search firms
- Other responsibilities as assigned to support recruiting function
The ideal candidate will exhibit the following qualifications:
- 2 years of recruiting experience required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent judgment and respect for confidentiality and discretion
- Ability to interact with all levels of personnel while demonstrating a professional and service-oriented demeanor
- Team-oriented self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize work and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software and processes
- Strong organizational skills, attention to details, and ability to meet deadlines
- Proactive with ability to take initiative when required
