Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our San Diego office. Candidates based near our other Southern California offices will also be considered.

The Land Use team seeks an experienced mid-level associate or special counsel to join us in our San Diego office.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the following areas:
- Advising clients on CEQA, Subdivision Map Act, planning, and zoning issues.
- Experience in land use/CEQA litigation, renewable energy projects, public sector work experience, and/or California Density Bonus Law is beneficial, but not required.
- Obtaining development agreements, easements, water supply assessments, and environmental permits; processing land use entitlements, and appearing before governmental agencies and commissions.
- Advising and representing residential, industrial and commercial developers through all phases of the land use regulatory process, including real estate due diligence investigations.
- Taking ownership of projects and working effectively as a member of a team.
- Excellent verbal communication, writing, research and analytical skills.
Requirements and Details:
- 5 years of experience working on a variety of land use matters.
- Strong academic credentials from top-tier law school preferred

The pay range for this position is $310,000 to $390,000.
