Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position located in Shepherdstown, WV, for a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. The primary responsibilities include designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes, monitoring their progress, and ensuring injury prevention and recovery protocols are effectively followed. The role involves collaborating with coaching staff, educating athletes on proper training techniques, and maintaining training facilities. The Graduate Assistant will also support the development of athletic performance and work closely with sports medicine professionals as needed.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and proficiency in Sports Science and Athletic Performance
- Experience in Strength & Conditioning and Strength Training methodologies
- Understanding of Injury Mitigation strategies and athlete safety protocols
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and adapt to various training environments
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; enrollment in a graduate program at Shepherd University is required
- Certification or eligibility for certification from a recognized organization such as NSCA (CSCS) or CSCCa (SCCC)
