Registered Nurse (RN) – Baylor Weekend Hospice Nurse

Schedule Baylor Weekend Coverage

· Friday, 4:00 PM – Saturday, 8:00 AM: Back-Up On-Call

· Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Primary On-Call

· Saturday, 4:00 PM – Sunday, 8:00 AM: Back-Up On-Call

· Sunday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Primary On-Call

Position Details

· Scheduled for 16 work hours each weekend

· Primarily remote/work-from-home with patient visits as needed

· Required availability for a total of 48 weekend hours

· One scheduled weekend off per quarter

· May assist in the Inpatient Unit (IPU) as needed

· Compensation equivalent to 80 hours per pay period

Responsibilities

· Provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients in homes, facilities, and other care settings

· Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care

· Manage symptoms and provide crisis intervention when needed

· Respond promptly to patient and family concerns during on-call coverage

· Coordinate care with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary team

· Educate patients and families regarding disease progression, symptom management, and hospice services

· Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation

· Support patient care needs through home visits as necessary

· Assist with inpatient hospice care as needed

· Maintain compliance with agency policies and hospice regulations

Qualifications Required

· Current Registered Nurse (RN) license

· Graduate of an accredited nursing program

· Current BLS certification

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

· Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills

· Ability to work independently and manage on-call responsibilities

Preferred

· Hospice experience

· Home health experience

· Palliative care experience

· End-of-life care experience
