Controller – Blackwell / Ponca City, OK

This position will work from our Blackwell office with intentions to be based ou of Ponca City eventually.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with management of the accounting processes ensuring proper posting of business activity
- Maintain inventory records and ensure proper recording
- Assist in filing and maintaining all required industry, state (multi state) and federal reporting, taxes, licensure and regulatory requirements
- Prepare financial statements to summarize and forecast the company’s financial status
- Assist with tax returns and audits
- Assist in the preparation of various special reports as directed
- Monitor cash and credit balances, providing documentation to creditors as required to maintain relationships
- Provide back-up coverage to other accounting staff as needed in areas such as payroll, accounts payable, and fuel invoicing
- Ensure accounting practices, follow legal guidelines and established accounting principles
- Maintain strict confidentiality
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly skilled in math, accounting and financial processes
- Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented and highly organized with keen attention to detail
- Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees or organizations
- Experience with PDI / Pricebook is beneficial
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of Accounting/Finance experience
- College education in accounting or related field
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft office and accounting software
Physical Requirements:
- Position requires long periods of time sitting at a desk and occasionally walking and standing
- Requires light to moderate work with 20-pound lifting and carry limit
- Position will require frequent use of computers, dexterity of fingers and occasional stooping and bending
