Maintenance Tech

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of buildings, equipment, and grounds across Shepherd of the Hills venues. This role ensures a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for guests, performers, and staff by performing routine inspections, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and structural issues, and responding promptly to maintenance requests.

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on buildings, systems, and equipment across all venues.
• Diagnose and repair issues in a timely and safe manner.
• Respond to maintenance work orders and guest- or venue-impacting issues with appropriate urgency.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, and equipment to identify safety hazards or needed repairs.
• Perform basic carpentry, painting, drywall, and general repair work as needed.
• Maintain and troubleshoot small engines, motors, pumps, and mechanical systems.
• Assist with seasonal setup and teardown of shows, events, and venue features.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work order records, and inventory of tools and supplies.
• Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors on specialized repairs as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training preferred.
• Preferred 2 years of experience in general maintenance, facilities, or a related trade (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical).
• Working knowledge of hand and power tools, and basic mechanical/electrical systems.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on seasonal show and event schedules.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly, and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces as needed.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and precipitation.
