Reports to: Principal, Driver Education Director
Classification: Stipend Position, Dudley-Charlton Regional School Committee
Essential Functions: To enable students to develop the proper attitude and necessary skill for safe driving.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
1. Bachelor’s degree in education
2. Meet state requirements for endorsement of driver education
Desired:
1. Master’s degree in traffic safety and driver education.
2. Ability to work effectively with school staff and the community at large.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepares the driver’s training vehicle and its occupants for safe and efficient travel.
2. Instructs students to comply with all regulations pertaining to driving and the necessary skills to operate a motor vehicle safely and efficiently.
3. Prepares the students to identify, predict, and respond according to urban and rural driving environments.
4. Maintains and prepares all necessary records and reports.
5. Explains and interprets the school’s driver education program to school personnel and the community at large.
6. Performs all responsibilities listed under the heading of teacher.
7. Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the principal, may assign.
