Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide in-home care for a husband and wife in Southington. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, and experienced in providing hands-on personal care while maintaining dignity and respect. The Client does not like any fragrance or smells, when entering the home. The couple are heavy smokers, but they do not smoke when the caregiver is there.
Schedule :
Monday - Saturday
5:00pm to 8:00pm
Sunday
8:00am - 2:00pm
5:00pm - 8:00pm
Responsibilities Include:
- Assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Light housekeeping (laundry, tidying, dishes)
- Meal preparation and assistance with feeding as needed
- Medication reminders (no administration)
- Mobility assistance and transfers as required
- Companionship and emotional support
- Monitoring clients’ condition and reporting changes to family
Qualifications:
- PCA certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Previous caregiving experience required (home care preferred)
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift and assist with mobility
- Compassionate, patient, and trustworthy
- Ability to work independently in a private home
- Background check required
