What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Manager position at Shephard's Beach Resort?
Shephard's Beach Resort, on beautiful Clearwater Beach, is seeking a highly motivated, responsible and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our well-established resort.
In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the Food production operations of the resort. This includes Cove Kitchen Bar, Tiki Grill, and our banquet catering. You will be the team leader and daily operational manager to your staff. You will report to the Food & Beverage Director and the General Manager of the resort.
Kitchen Manager Requirements and Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Chef or related role preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of Food Safety requirements and controls.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
- Knowledge of Hotschedules is a plus.
- Knowledge of Positouch is a plus.
- Knowledge of ChefTech is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, team building and management skills.
- The ability to positively encourage and mentor staff.
- Well rounded knowledge of Food Costing and Labor Management.
- Excellent Communication Skills.
Job Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the daily kitchen operations for Cove Kitchen Bar and Tiki Grill.
- Manage daily Kitchen Checklists and Procedures.
- Hire, train and schedule all kitchen staff.
- Coordinate food orders, supervise prep and cooking.
- Ensure food consistency, proper plating, and portion control.
- Manage and maintain good ticket times.
- Enforce strict health, sanitation and safety standards.
- Manage food costs and reduce waste.
- Manage labor and maintain proper staffing.
- Maintain a clean kitchen and keep equipment in good working condition.
Salary and Company Benefits:
- Salary based upon prior experience; annual salary range from 65,000 to 70,000
