TITLE: Resident Concierge DEPARTMENT: Resident Services
RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Resident Services
JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates leisure planning and group activities for Residents and Staff.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, LICENSURE:
1. One year experience coordinating leisure planning and group activities.
2. Previous activity experience desired.
3. Basic computer skills required.
4. Satisfactory driving record required and must be maintained.
5. Ability to effectively communicate with residents, family, community, and staff.
6. Ability to manage multiple people, priorities, and schedules with a positive, reinforcing approach.
7. Possess a sense of creativity; be able to come up with new, unique ideas, formulate a plan of execution and complete requirements for parties and activities.
8. Ability to continually strive for resident satisfaction by obtaining suggestions and implementing new programs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Support the mission and purpose of SVWC. Respect dignity, rights, ad privacy of all residents.
2. Present a professional, positive, caring image.
3. Employment and annual Tuberculosis testing as required by Virginia State Licensure.
4. Must follow SVWC guidelines for COVID vaccination and testing.
5. Must attend annually mandatory inservices required by the State Licensure and all other mandatory in-services and/or meetings required by other regulatory agencies and/or by SVWC.
6. Follow and support the policies and procedures established by SVWC.
7. Flexibility to work weekends and evenings, some overnight travel.
8. Support the Board of Trustees and Administration
9. Promote positive language and culture change understanding for all older adults.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates with and solicits appropriate community resources to promote resident participation in the community and involvement of the community in the life of the facility.
2. Coordinates IL activities, i.e., day and overnight trips, parties, entertainment, educational offerings, attends coffee weekly, guest speakers/artists coordinates with AL/HC activities staff, vitality team, volunteers, and related Resident Association committees.
3. Plans, organize, implement Community functions, i.e.: New Year’s Gala, monthly Senior Center visits for activities.
4. Concierge Services: flyers, sign-up sheets, invitation, special notices, reservations for trips, hotel, rental vehicles, printed directions, internet searches, decorations for private parties, scheduling and advertising for new groups or events, ordering from Amazon or internet purchases, run errands; ex: Walmart, jewelry repair, shoe repair, special purchases.
5. Organizes travel outings for IL residents including research, reservations and special needs.
6. Plan, implement, organize monthly calendar of events. Responsible for communication /publicity of events and activities including bulletin boards, Channel 970, Westbury World publication, TouchTown.
7. Promotes woodworking, drama, dance, music, painting, drawing, exercise, weaving, creative writing, gardening, and other crafts and hobbies among the residents; as well as resident/staff activities/creative arts programs.
8. Develops, publicizes, implements, and evaluates short and long-term programs for residents which reflect their needs and desires for recreational activities, lifelong learning opportunities, and creative arts.
9. Encourages volunteerism among the residents both in-house and in the Winchester community.
10. Orders and maintains activities equipment and supplies and expense records; Responsible for monitoring cleanliness of all supplies and equipment. Reports to DORS any repair/maintenance needs, safety hazards, unusual occurrences or observations, problems with completion of assignments or scheduling.
11. Coordinates with other staff members and departments related to scheduling of events and facility use; serves on pertinent in-house committees as needed. Prepare monthly work orders and food function sheets as needed.
12. Complete clerical duties for residents such as purchase tickets, make reservations, obtain directions, prepare invitations, compose flyers along with specific individual requests.
13. Prepare and facilitate showing of movies for Independent Living.
14. Holiday decorating in common areas of Independent Living.
15. Act as a Liaison to the Residents’ Program Committee.
16. Duties may include driving SVWC vehicles. Responsible for completing vehicle accident reports with any damage to SVWC vehicle property and report immediately to the Front Desk Supervisor, Director of Resident Services, and other Resident Concierge(s).
17. Responsible for overall participant safety for all activities programming, including safety advocate as necessary.
18. Inform Director of Resident Services and other Resident Concierge(s) concerning psychosocial needs/approaches related to the residents or families as noted. Report changes in participant status, residents’ responses to programming. Direct participant and family complaints to Administrator and/or Director of Resident Services.

- Must be able to use, operate and interpret information from equipment in work area.
SPEECH
- Must be able to verbally communicate in the English language directly and over the telephone and be understood.
RANGE OF MOTION
- Must have mobility for all parts of the body, walking, bending, lifting, reaching above head and use of hands.
- Must be able to stand and/or mobilize by walking for 20% of an eight-hour shift.
- Some tasks may require sitting for 80% of the workday.
- Must have manual dexterity, fine motor skills (typing, computer, etc.)
- Must be able to work under stress.
- Must be able to work flexible hours as needed.
