Shenandoah University’s Division of Behavioral Sciences is seeking applications for a Program Director of Social Work. This is a fulltime, benefited position located on our Health Professions Campus in Winchester, VA.
The Shenandoah University School of Health Professions houses the university’s graduate programs in anatomy and physiology (certificate), athletic training (MS), physician assistant studies (MS), physical therapy (DPT), public health (MPH) and occupational therapy (MSOT and OTD), and communication sciences and disorders, as well as unique certificates in performing arts medicine, performing arts health and fitness, esports medicine, and esports health and fitness. Programs are offered in Winchester, Loudoun County, or online, depending on the discipline. Several dual degree programs are also available, such as DPT/MSAT and PA/MPH.
The Program Director of the Masters of Social Work Program (MSW) at Shenandoah University is responsible for the oversight of the daily activities of the MSW Program including all management and administrative activities of the MSW Program as well as teaching responsibilities in the area of expertise
Responsibilities:
- Plan and organize day to day events and activities within the MSW program
- Plan, organize, and assess and modify long-term strategic efforts as they relate to the MSW Program
- Coordinate all program assessment and improvement efforts
- Plan, oversee and adjust budgeting for the program in cooperation with the Dean
- Develop, eview, maintain, and update program policies, procedures, and curriculum that ensure compliance with the Council on Social Work Education
- Assist with recruitment, evaluation, and mentoring of faculty including the promotion process
- Recruit, evaluation and mentor MSW program staff
- Engage in scholarship consistent with a defined scholarly agenda and support faculty scholarship efforts
- Participate in service and support faculty service efforts (departmental, school, University, and community).
- Assign faculty to courses based on level of expertise.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with University departments, community partners, and other like institutions.
- Teach in the area of expertise (at a reduced load)
- Participate in University meetings, inter-departmental initiatives, and departmental exchanges
