About the Role
As demand for our services have grown, we are now seeking a skilled and reliable Shop Associate/Field Helper to join our team. This position is an introductory role into the elevator industry, eventually leading to a promotion to a full-time Mechanic Helper when the opportunity arises.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize parts in their respective bins on shelves
- Take weekly inventory
- Receive incoming deliveries
- Place outgoing parts on the “Outgoing Parts Shelf”
- Maintain fleet vehicles (fluid changes, inspections, minor repairs, washing/cleaning, fueling etc.)
- Maintain shop forklifts (propane changes, oil changes, minor repairs, washing/cleaning, etc.)
- Assist with organizing pallets and crates
- Maintain shop/warehouse cleanliness (floor sweeping/mopping, organizing bins and cabinets, etc.)
- Maintain building grounds (snow shoveling, cleaning gravel yard, pulling weeds, power washing, etc.)
- Collect weekly van checklists
- Assist with finding parts for mechanics
- Assist office staff with tasks (filing, moving/building furniture, organizing closets,
- Assist field crews with repairs/installs (when a helper is unavailable or a third person is needed on site)
- Run errands for office
- Drop packages off to UPS/FedEx/USPS
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Clean driving record and background check
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance
- Strong commitment to safety and organization
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
